The Chinese theatrical feature film of the epic story of Chinese POW who escapes his captors and is taken in by the indigenous Ewenki people of Northern China and Mongolia. His journey of love, tragedy and redemption are set against the backdrop of the early days of China's quest to preserve its giant forest region and the challenge of protecting the Ewenki way of life.
